The Stitch Society began three years ago from my kitchen table in the village of Oxenhope in Yorkshire where we started making elegant artisan workwear aprons.  Appealing to a growing number of discerning crafters, artisans globally, our artisan workwear is designed with comfort and durability in mind, with wide shoulder straps and a large pocket perfect for a crafter’s bits and bobs. Our fabrics are carefully sourced in the UK and we are working on sourcing all our fabrics from UK manufacturers in the next 2 years.

We work closely with other makers, collaborating on designs, to produce workwear that is truly fit for purpose, stands the test of time and becomes part of the makers working life.

Having learnt to sew as a young child, patiently taught to by my grandmother. It is this experience that has led to my commitment to preserve sewing skills alongside The Stitch Society workwear and I have been working with Leeds City College to address the skill shortage in the Yorkshire region in launching and developing their ‘The Textile Academy’, providing training and advice to students and manufacturers in the local area.
